Ita Thao Pier Plaza is ready to celebrate Xmas and New Year

Introduce

Visitors continue to enter the Sun Moon Lake area, in particular Ita Thao, since the COVID-19 outbreak lessened in September. Ita Thao Visitor CEnter now works with local company Tiitent to decorate Ita Thao Pier Plaza with popular Space and M33 tents, according to “camping aesthetics.” Visitors are free to go into the tents to feel them and take pictures. At the pier and outside of the visitor center, Christmas lights are in place at night, from 17:00 to 22:00.

To celebrate the New Year, at Ita Thao Pier Plaza, live band performances will be held from 22:00 on, along with count-down fireworks. Visitors may watch the performances and fireworks along Bajia Pavilion Path, but they must wear masks, have their body temperatures checked, and leave their real names and phone numbers so as to fight COVID-19. In other less crowded areas, visitors must keep a proper social distance or put on masks. At midnight, fireworks will be set at Ita Thao and Shuishe Piers for 5 long minutes.

Yuchi Township Farmers’ Association is displaying Sun Moon Lake black tea on the first floor of the visitor center building. In this way, the association may provide better services to farmers and visitors alike. The center was moved to the second floor on the 18th this month instead, but all services are still available. Visitors can even enjoy beautiful, soothing lake views from there. The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration noted that Ita Thao Visitor Center has been in operations for more than a decade. Thus, in 2022, space refurbishment will be conducted to make this lakeside place friendlier and more beautiful to people in post-pandemic times.
