Romantic Starlight Sun Moon Lake Firefly

At the end of spring and the beginning of summer, the gentle rain of the plum rain season awakens the sleeping earth. In the grass and along the riverbanks, a hidden energy stirs, marking the arrival of firefly season. On tranquil summer nights, the twinkling starlight and gracefully dancing fireflies make one long to be immersed in this dreamlike, poetic glow of the night.

Sun Moon Lake is rich in natural ecological resources. Every year from April to May, at seven major firefly viewing spots—Taomi, Dongguang, Dalin, Shuishe, Toushe, Tannan, and Danda—you can enjoy the romantic sight of yellow-edged fireflies(Aquatica ficta), black-winged fireflies(Abscondita cerata), large black fireflies(Abscondita anceyi), and Soder's ribbed fireflies(Curtos sauteri) dancing under the starry sky.

If you want to witness the romantic sight of fireflies dancing in the sky, then visiting Sun Moon Lake to enjoy the fireflies is the perfect choice!
