The Tannan Catholic Church

Introduction

The Tannan Catholic Church is the tallest holy site in Nantou County. The giant Jesus statue is part of the landscape of the church. Looking at the Jesus statue standing on the mountainside with both its arms wide open; it feels like all the trials and suffering of his followers will soon be over. The church built on the hillside features glass walls so it looks more spacious.

Behind the altar is a pond. Under the sun, the reflection of it feels like the church is both on the water and in the water, and it symbolizes that Jesus is everywhere. Built based on the concept of Noah's Ark as well as key messages conveyed from the Bible, the church is both spiritual and fashionable.
