Introduce

The National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan (NCAC) launched the "Consumer Hotline for Tourists."

Consumer disputes experienced by tourists during their visit to Japan are expected to grow in the next couple of years; thus, the NCAC set up a consumer consulting service for visitors to Japan starting from Dec. 3, 2018. This service is provided in 6 languages: English, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese. Please visit this website (http://www.kokusen.go.jp/) for information.
Should visitors experience consumer disputes in stores, restaurants, or during transportation or accommodation (for example: In case of purchased goods found to be damaged, being asked to pay prices that are unreasonably high in restaurants, being asked to pay high repair fees for rental vehicles, or hotel room type that is different from that reserved), please contact us. Hotline: +886-3-5449-0906; office hours: 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays (except on Saturday, Sunday and holidays). Call charges apply.
