Visitor Centers provide travel information, brochures, and tourist maps. The official website and Facebook fan page of the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration also offer a wide range of travel information, helping you stay up to date with the latest news and insights about Sun Moon Lake.

Multimedia presentation screenings are available at the Xiangshan Visitor Center. Groups can make reservations through the official website under "Travel Guide," "Online Application," then "Multimedia Reservation." Two film options are available, running 8 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. Please allow 10 minutes for entry and seating, and arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled session.

Sun Moon Lake has no shortage of attractions worth exploring. If time is limited, consider visiting the scenic nature trails, temples, or the Xiangshan Visitor Center. For the best views of the lake, Meihe Garden and Cien Pagoda are must-visits, both offering elevated vantage points that look out over the water.

The Han-bi Hiking Trail was our late President Chiang Kai-Shek's favorite. Visitors can enjoy the singing of the birds, especially the lovely voice of thrushes. There are three pavilions along the trail. The first one is very unique because a sentry was built under the pavilion.
Shuei-she and Ita Thao Villages are the most populated areas around the lake. Many souvenir stores, restaurants, hotels and hostels are located in these two villages. The Visitor Center is located in the Shuei-she village. The Ita Thao village is on the opposite side of the lake. You can go there by driving a car or boarding a boat, or taking the round-the-lake bus on weekends.
The Long-Fong Temple is located on the Jhong-sang Street near the Ming-tan Junior High School. It takes about 15 minutes to go there on foot from Shui-Ser Visitor Center.

For the best sunrise views, head to Zhaowu Pier, Maolan Mountain, Shuishe Dam, Hanbi Peninsula, Cien Pagoda, or Jinlong Mountain in Yuchi Township.

No, the lake is multi-purpose. Besides sightseeing, this lake is also for generating power, supply of drinking water, irrigation and fishery.

There are four major power plants around Sun Moon Lake: Daguan Power Plant (Daguan No. 1 Plant), Jugong Power Plant, Mingtan Power Plant, and Minghu Power Plant (Daguan No. 2 Plant).

The Nantou Bus stop for services to Taichung is located opposite the Sun Moon Lake Police Station. However, passengers should queue for boarding at the passing bay at the Shuishe Shopping Area. You can take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Sun Moon Lake Line run by Nantou Bus Transportation via Puli and Taichung High Speed Rail Station to Taichung Railway Station. Take the HSR to Taichung Station, transfer to the TRA to Changhua or Ershui Station, and then take the Jiji Line to the final stop, Checheng Station.

Nantou Bus ticket counters are available at both Taichung Railway Station and Taichung High Speed Rail Station. Tickets can be purchased in advance, but seat reservations are not available. It is recommended to arrive before the scheduled departure time and queue on site for boarding.

The ticketing office for both land and water transport is located on Zhongshan Road, opposite the Sun Moon Lake Police Station. Passengers should proceed to the passing bay at Shuishe Shopping Area to queue for boarding.

From Sun Moon Lake, you can drive via Provincial Highway 21 or take the Nantou Bus. The journey takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

The admission fee is NT$980, with discounted rates available during certain promotional periods. It is recommended to check the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village website for the latest information.

There are several ways to get to Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village: First, you can take the Sun Moon Lake shuttle bus from Shuishe to the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station, then ride the ropeway to the park. Second, you can take a ferry from Shuishe Pier to Ita Thao Pier, walk for about ten minutes to the ropeway station, and then take the ropeway to the park. Third, Nantou Bus operates at least four daily services to Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village; it is advisable to check the schedule online in advance. Fourth, you can drive via Yuchi Township to reach the park.
