Drums echo the pulse of the earth, while rhythm carries culture from one generation to the next. Founded in 2000, the Ten Drum Art Percussion Group is dedicated to preserving and passing on Taiwan’s indigenous cultural heritage while promoting the art of percussion. Bringing together Taiwan’s diverse ethnic cultures and percussion traditions from around the world, the group incorporates local landscapes, history and culture, and Eastern aesthetics into its creative works, refining a percussion art form that combines strength, speed, and poetic expression, and continuing to share the unique charm of Taiwanese percussion with the world.
On September 12, the Ten Drum Art Percussion Group will present "Resounding Drums, Radiant Sun Moon Lake" at Ita Thao Pier, Sun Moon Lake, with the special participation of the Darmalan Cultural & Art Troupe. The performance will open with the Indigenous traditional song and dance "The Happy Little Ants", bringing together singing, dancing, and drumming amid the surrounding mountains and waters to showcase Taiwan’s rich cultural diversity and the vitality of its land. The program will feature a succession of grand-scale works, including "The Battle of Wuzhangyuan", "The Commanding General", "Heaven-Slaying", "The Battle of Daluo", and "The Legend of Demon Slaying", blending the grandeur of history, mythology, and the battlefield; works such as "Fengyi Ponds", "Riding the Wind and Breaking the Waves", and "Swift as the Wind and Thunder" will further portray the majesty of mountains and seas and the energy of life.
Following the finale, "Clash of Thunder", a spectacular fireworks display will illuminate the night sky, bringing the 2026 Sun Moon Lake Music & Fireworks Festival to a magnificent and dazzling artistic finale.

In 2026, the Taiwan Mobile Sun Moon Lake Fireworks Concert celebrates its 18th year with 《18Light》 as its theme. Through classic melodies that have accompanied us as we grew up, the concert will take audiences back to memories of their youth. No matter which year you were 18, there is always a song that can once again light up those most beautiful moments.
For the first time, this year's concert will feature the billion-stream singer-songwriter Boon, Hui Lu, the born artist PoLin, and the 75-member Philharmonia Moments Musicaux conducted by Chiang, Ching-po, performing over 20 classic songs spanning generations. In a grand symphonic arrangement, combining pop music and technological elements, the concert connects the youthful memories of different generations and creates a moving stage uniquely dedicated to 《18Light》.

Event Overview: By integrating local specialty industries, cultural showcases, and tourism resources, the festival aims to enhance awareness of the Yuchih Township black tea and agricultural products brands, while promoting the local economic cycle and increasing farmers’ income.
10/17, 10/18 "bring people together through tea, music, markets, and cultural heritage, allowing more people to discover Yuchih through an event and fall in love with Yuchih over a cup of black tea."
- Xiangshan Visitor Center Farmers’ Market: Approximately 60–80 booths will offer shiitake mushrooms, black tea, orchids, coffee, and specialty agricultural products from Indigenous and Hakka communities, primarily from officially certified vendors.
- Evaluation & Awards Ceremony: Awards will be presented for Taiwan Shancha, TTES No. 21, large-leaf tea, and TTES No. 18 “Ruby”, including Special Prize, First Prize, and Gold Award.
- Family Experiences: Activities include the “Creative Arts Classroom” aesthetic experience, “Tea Aroma Handcraft,” and "Tea-tasting Experiences".
- Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Cup Tea Aroma Singing Contest: Bringing local residents together and showcasing their unique charm.
From mid-October through the end of November, six themes and ten routes will be planned for in-depth local tours, covering Se-Shui Community, Lugao Community, Ita Thao Tribe, and other destinations. A total of 30 tour sessions will be offered, with a maximum of 20 participants per session.
From October 17 to 20, collections of trees and stones by private collectors will be exhibited at the Xiangshan Visitor Center.
10/18 Under the theme “A tea plantation nurtures a mountain town; a concert lets the world see Yuchih,” a large-scale music performance will be held to generate greater attention and stimulate tourism spending in the surrounding area.

Event Overview
Held annually from late October to early November at Sun Moon Lake in Nantou! The main venue is located at the Xiangshan Visitor Center, renowned for its Eastern Zen-inspired architectural framing. The race routes cover roads around Sun Moon Lake and attract thousands of runners from Taiwan and overseas each year. The 13th edition in 2026 attracted more than 7,000 registered participants.
- 42 km Full Marathon
- 29 km Ultra Half-Marathon: One complete lap around Sun Moon Lake, allowing runners to enjoy the lake and surrounding mountain scenery at a leisurely pace. This is the most popular category (nearly 5,000 participants in 2026).
- 6 km Bicycle Trail Walking: A beginner-friendly route suitable for participants of all ages.
- AIMS International Race Certification: The course has been measured by an internationally certified course measurer and meets international standards.
- Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships (AbbottWMM MTT): The first event in Taiwan to be included in the series, and one of the few events in Taiwan to receive this recognition.
A comprehensive safety network is provided by medical personnel, professional physical therapists specializing in sports protection and taping, more than 30 Red Cross first-aid personnel, more than 40 race officials, more than 60 professional pacers, and more than 60 AED Runners, helping ensure the safety of all participants.
Continuing the belief that “For every kilometer run, one dollar is donated,” the event has accumulated millions of dollars in charitable donations to support disadvantaged groups in Nantou. In 2026, donations will go to the Nantou Hope Academy of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, supporting and helping the “Nancy Girls” transition toward independent living.

Following its 2024 appearance, the NTSO Taiwan Youth Symphony Orchestra returns to the "Sun Moon Lake Music & Fireworks Festival"! Set against the striking modern architecture of the Xiangshan Visitor Center, with its fair-faced concrete design framed by the beauty of the lake and mountains, the orchestra will present a diverse musical feast spanning centuries and appealing to audiences of all ages.
Led by veteran Taiwanese conductor Kuo, Lien-chang, the concert will open with the overture to Verdi’s renowned opera Nabucco. Joined by rising-generation soprano Yi-Yin Wang and tenor Kingston Kung, the orchestra will perform a selection of vocal works from Taiwan and around the world, along with celebrated film and animation scores from both Eastern and Western traditions. The spectacular performance will bring the 2026 Sun Moon Lake Music & Fireworks Festival series to its climax, leaving audiences with an unforgettable impression as the lakeside scenery, mountain breezes, fireworks, and beautiful music come together.

This event has specially partnered with Wenwu Temple, a renowned local temple at Sun Moon Lake, to combine religious culture with the music festival and create three exclusive fortune sticks and amulets, each carrying its own special meaning. 【Shuttle Bus Instructions for Passengers】
- The free shuttle bus service for the Festival is only available for "entry" and "exit" times. There is no shuttle service outside these times.
- Shuttle buses will have signs indicating "Festival Free Shuttle Bus" and the "Route Name" at the front. Please follow the guidance of the onsite staff to board.
- Shuttle services will be coordinated with traffic control measures for various events.
- Shuttle services will be paused during the evening events to allow buses to gather for post-event exits.
- Shuttle bus schedules are flexible and will be adjusted based on actual traffic conditions to manage crowds. Please be patient while waiting.
- After the events, please proceed to the shuttle stops immediately. The shuttle service will end once the crowd at the stops has been cleared. Latecomers will not be accommodated.
