Introduction

On the journey from Puli to Sun Moon Lake, as one passes near to the Kongming Temple in Jhongming Village, Yuchih Township, there is a “Cinshou Kiln” on the left side of the highway. The details of the road sign, main door, outer façade, and molding of the house, all look very eye-catching. Whenever people pass by here, they want to go in and explore.

This attractive and friendly sounding name "Cinshou Kiln" was thought up by the proprietor Wu Cih-bin on its opening day, at 4:00 in the morning. He woke his wife up to ask for her opinion, and Jhongming Village's Cinshou Kiln was thus founded. Wu Cih-bin originally worked at the Visitor Service Center for the Jhongming Community. Each brick and tile of the clay-producing Cinshou Kiln has been personally laid by Mr. Wu Cih-bin. This place includes a clay-making classroom, an old-style building, a hostel, suspension bridge, and pavilion. There is a wooden carving on the main building providing a full account of Mr. Wu's career, which began when he sold fish as a child.
