Shuli River originates from a mountain/basin area which includes the Sun Moon Lake, Toushe, Tonggui, and Wucheng. From the valley, there is Jiji Railway which goes all the way to the “secret garden” - Checheng. Checheng was once an important logging town in Taiwan, and Shuili Waterfront Bikeway follows the west bank of Shuili River up the stream to Checheng. Down the stream, the bikeway goes through Shuiyun Bridge and Shuili Water Park. The bikeway is about 4 kilometers long and the downtown and waterfront sections are pretty gentle. The section that leads to Checheng is a bit more challenging. Along the path, visitors can enjoy views of Checheng's traditional logging industry, Shuili River, and small and simple villages.
