Introduction

This cycling route begins at the Ita Thau Pier Plaza and follows a scenic ride past the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station to the Shuiwatou Platform, where visitors can view the Nine Frogs Stack. Along the way, riders can take in the beautiful waterscape of the Ita Thau area. The total length is approximately 2.6 kilometers. The section between Ita Thau and the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station is the Takrahaz Water Cycling Path, which opened in September 2023 and stretches about 600 meters. Built close to the lake surface with a slight distance from the shoreline, the path creates the sensation of riding on water. Along this stretch, visitors will also find the Big Fish Platform and the fish trap-shaped trellises, both designed with elements inspired by Indigenous culture, making this a must-visit new highlight at Sun Moon Lake.
