❗️Beginning April 1, 2025, the Mount Maolan Summit Area, including the restroom and viewing platform, will be temporarily closed to the public on weekends and national holidays. This measure is being implemented to accommodate ongoing construction work at the weather station and related operational adjustments. We appreciate your understanding.❗️
This 3-kilometer trail starts next to Mingtan Junior High School and runs to the Yuchih Branch of the Tea Research and Extension Station and also to the Sun Moon Lake Weather Station of the Central Weather Administration. Along the trail you see enchanting expanses of tea fields, and the peak offers panoramic views of the lake, Jioufen Mountain II, and Jiji Mountain. This is the best place in the area to view the sunrise, mountain mists, and the sea of clouds.
【Bamboo Stone Garden】
Redeveloped from an old bamboo specimen garden, this garden now grows all kinds of bamboo. These can be seen together with large amounts of native pebbles used as construction materials to provide a fresh natural appearance. A 1.14-kilometer path from the garden leads to the Tea Research and Extension Station, and is lined with all kinds of bamboo.
