Located by Provincial Highway 21, Chaowu Pier is one of the Sun Moon Lake's four main piers. It is ideal for watching the Sunrise, and blessed with great climate, geological and water conditions, the pier and the lake look simply attractive under the misty morning Sun. In fact, “misty Shuishe in the mornings” is one of the Sun Moon Lake's eight most famous views. And Chaowu Pier is the place for taking a yacht tour. It is also the starting point of the Sun Moon Lake's swimming contest - the swimmers have to reach Ita Thao Pier on the other side to finish the challenge. The swimming route is 3.3 km long.
