During the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday (February 17-22) and the 228 Peace Memorial Day long weekend (February 28-March 2), traffic control measures will be implemented on major roads.

I. No Parking Restrictions – Times and Locations:

February 27-March 1, 2026 (Peace Memorial Day)
Daily 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (subject to adjustment based on traffic conditions)
(2) Affected Road Sections:
Provincial Highway 21, KM 60+380 to KM 60+500 (four-lane section between Youshui Lane entrance and Jiulong intersection)
Provincial Highway 21, KM 60+500 to KM 64+300 (two-lane section between Jiulong intersection and Shuishe Dam)
II. Parking Permitted – Times and Locations:
(1) Effective Periods:
February 17-22, 2026 (Lunar New Year)
February 27-March 1, 2026 (Peace Memorial Day)
Daily 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (subject to adjustment based on traffic conditions)
(2) Permitted Parking Areas:
Provincial Highway 21, from KM 64+300 toward Toushe. Parking is permitted on the two outer lanes of the four-lane section but prohibited within 50 meters before/after the tunnel and inside it.
Provincial Highway No. 21 from 60K+380 Youshui Lane to Manhuang Coffee. Parking is permitted on the two outer lanes of the four-lane section.
III. Vehicle Restrictions (Pedestrian Zones) – Times and Locations:
(1) Shuishe Area, Yuchi Township:
Effective Periods:
February 17-22, 2026 (Lunar New Year)
February 27-March 1, 2026 (Peace Memorial Day)
Daily 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (subject to adjustment based on traffic conditions)
Restricted Area: Mingsheng Street. Exceptions apply to vehicles transporting elderly passengers, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, vehicles displaying permits issued by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Headquarters of the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and vehicles transporting daily necessities for local residents and businesses.
(2) Ita Thao Area, Yuchi Township:
Effective Periods:
(1) February 17-22, 2026 (Lunar New Year)
(2) February 27-March 1, 2026 (Peace Memorial Day)
(3) Daily 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (subject to adjustment based on traffic conditions)
Restricted Areas:
(1) Yiyong Street.
(2) Shuishalian Street.
(3) Riyue Street (at Shuixiu Street intersection)
(4) Wenhua Street (at Dehua Street intersection)
(5) Dehua Street (at Wenhua Street intersection)
(6) Magaitan Street (from Yiyong Street intersection to Riyue Street intersection)
IV. Traffic control will be enforced in the above areas. Except for official vehicles and emergency medical vehicles, all other vehicles are prohibited from entering. Road users are requested to cooperate with the above traffic control measures to ensure smooth traffic flow.
