You can take Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport (direct bus) from Taipei Bus Station to Sun Moon Lake. Alternatively, take the HSR (High-Speed Rail) or TRA (Taiwan Railways) to Taichung, then transfer to the Nantou Bus (Taiwan Tourist Shuttle) at HSR Taichung Station (Exit 5) or Taichung Railway Station for a direct ride to Sun Moon Lake.

There are several rental shops in the Shuishe Commercial Area. Near the Xiangshan Visitor Center, there is only one shop: Xiangshan Bike Rental.
