Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area

Late autumn is cool, pleasant and the perfect time to go cycling. Sun Moon Lake has unique beauty and pleasant scenery. Visitors can cycle around the lake on a route that is a little challenging due to undulating terrain, or cycle along Sun Moon Lake bike path at a leisurely and unhurried pace, taking in the stunning scenery, the morning sun and cool breeze, while enjoying a burden-free bike ride.

A number of cycling events are available for visitors to explore Sun Moon Lake together.

**Four Seasons Certificate (January 1-December 31, 2024): Around the Lake Cycling Certificate

1.Cycling Challenge 

➀ Complete the route around the lake and record the path track map 

➁ Take 3 designated photos (each including the cyclist, bike and scenery) --- the photo locations will be announced the day before the start of each season

.ᐟ.ᐟSummer.ᐟ.ᐟ photo locations announcement: March 31, 2024, Redemption period: April 1 – June 30, 2024

.ᐟ.ᐟAutumnᐟ.ᐟ photo locations announcement: June 30, 2024, Redemption period: Jul 1 – September 30, 2024

.ᐟ.ᐟWinterᐟ.ᐟ photo locations announcement: September 30, 2024, Redemption period: October 1 – December 31, 2024

➂ Each purchase must be NT$100 or more

2.Upload data after cycling

➀ Follow fan page posts and post the path track map by leaving comments on the designated FB post (the post will be pinned at the top)

➁ Create an account in the medal redemption system

➂ Upload purchase records, the path track map, 3 designated photos and click "I want to make an appointment"

3.Review data after cycling

➃ Go to Xiangshan Visitor Center for review and redemption in person by showing the Facebook message, purchase certificate and ID with a personal photo.



**Sun Moon Lake Challenge Breakthrough (2024/1/1-202412/31): complete three sporting challenges

➀ Within the event year, complete three of the following sporting events, “running,” “cycling” around Sun Moon Lake, “climbing” Maolan Mountain or Toushehoujian Mountain, “swimming” across the lake in the Sun Moon Lake Swimming Carnival

➁ Create an account in the system and upload the completion certificate or a self-completed path track map screenshot to the system

➂ After the data is reviewed and accepted, the participant will receive a "Wooden Trophy & Sun Moon Lake Challenge Breakthrough Certificate" (please check your email notifications)

Please note

➀ The screenshot of the path track map must include the complete path track route, date, activity time and kilometers

➁ As Sun Moon Lake is not open for swimming, please provide a certificate showing completion of the cross-lake swim from the Sun Moon Lake Swimming Carnival

➂ The certificate will be delivered "cash on home delivery." Those who participate in the Sun Moon Lake Challenge Breakthrough are required to pay relevant postage charges
