Postal Information

The postal service in Taiwan is very efficient. Post offices provide all sorts of postal services, including regular mail, prompt delivery, registered mail, express delivery, quick mail, parcels, and post office box rental. Business hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Some post offices provide postal services on weekends and holidays.

Stamps are sold at hotels, post offices, or convenience stores. You can post mail by putting it in the mail boxes in hotels or on the street.

 

Red Mail Boxes are for sending air mail (the opening on the left) and prompt delivery

Green Mail Boxes are for sending regular mail. The opening on the right is for local mail and the opening on the left is for sending outgoing mail.

 

Local mail will normally arrive within 24 to 48 hours. When sending air mail from Taiwan to the USA, it normally takes a week to arrive. When sending regular mail to China, it takes about a month to arrive. If you want to send express delivery with your mail collected by a carrier, you can contact the service centers of UPS or DHL. In addition, large chain convenience stores, such as 7-Eleven, OK, and Family Mart also provide international express courier services.
