This implies the period of the visa holder’s use of the visa. For example VALID UNTIL (or ENTER BEFORE) APRIL 8, 1999, it means the visa will expire after April 8, 1999.
Duration of Stay:
This means that the period the holder is eligible to stay in Taiwan starts the next day after his/her entry. The duration of stay is normally 14 days, 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days.
Holders of a 60-day visa without any note of limitation should have valid documents ready before the expiry of the visa if he/she intends to extend his/her stay in Taiwan, and should apply for an extension the Service Station of the Immigration Department in different counties (cities).
The holder should apply for an Alien Resident Certificate and Re-entry Permit at a Service Station of the Immigration Department in different counties and cities within 15 days of the entry or within 15 days of the re-issuing of the Residence Permit. His/her duration of stay will be governed by the date printed on the Alien Resident Certificate.
