With the brilliant fireworks in the sky and the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake, a luxurious visual feast is coming soon! To celebrate the "2024 Sun Moon Lake Cycling, Music & Fireworks Festival", we have teamed up with the local tourism circle and our neighboring partner stores to present a series of exciting promotional activities!

Oct. 1, 2024 (Tue.) to Nov. 30, 2024 (Sat.)

1. Step 1

   Take the Sun Moon Lake Route, Checheng Route, or Sun Moon Lake-Alishan Route of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle during the event.
2. Step 2

   Collect a stamp collection card at Nantou Bus stations (High Speed Rail Taichung Station, Taichung Gancheng Station, Sun Moon Lake Station), Checheng Visitor Center, or on a Sun Moon Lake-Alishan Route bus, present your proof of ticket purchase, stamp on the stamp card, and take the bus.
   ※Only Nantou Bus stations provide stamping service; Checheng Visitor Center does not provide such service.
3. Step 3

   (1) Stay at a legal hotel or B&B in the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area (Puli Township, Yuchi Township, Shueili Township) and present the stamp collection card and have it stamped by the hotel.

   (2) Make a purchase of NT$300 or more at the contracted merchants and present the stamp collection card and have it stamped by the merchant.

4. Step 4

   After completing the tasks listed above, go to the designated Nantou Bus stations (Taichung Gancheng Station, High Speed Rail Taichung Station, Sun Moon Lake Station) or Checheng Visitor Center and present the stamp collection card to redeem an exquisite gift and enter the lucky draw. Each person is limited to redeeming one gift in person, while supplies last.
5. Step 5

   Lucky draw winners will be announced on the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Sun Moon Lake & Checheng Route" website two weeks after the completion of the event.

Sun Moon Lake is an internationally renowned tourist destination, not only for its magnificent mountain and lake scenery but also for its rich cultural heritage and diverse natural ecology. This year, we once again organize the photography competition of the annual autumn grand event in central Taiwan - the "Sun Moon Lake Cycling, Music & Fireworks Festival." Please pick up your camera, revisit this beautiful land, and capture the stunning scenery and moments at Sun Moon Lake through your lenses. Document every detail of your experience, showcasing the exquisite natural beauty, cultural richness, and scenic wonders, and make those touching, beautiful moments permenant.

There is no limitation on the theme and number of entries for each participant. They can use the local humanities, natural and ecology, special scenery, landscape, tourism, local industries, indigenous culture, festivals, or "2024 Sun Moon Lake Cycling, Music & Fireworks Festival" activities within the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration (Yuchi Township, Puli Township, Jiji Township, Shueili Township, Xinyi Township) as the theme to express the charms and touching images from various angles in the area.

• Collection period: Now - 11/29
• Eligibility: All photography enthusiasts are eligible to participate, regardless of nationality, no entry fee, and no restrictions on the brand of camera used. Those under the age of 18 must have the consent and signature of a legal representative before they can register.
• Condition: Photographs taken in five townships in Nantou County, including Yuchi Township, Puli Township, Jiji Township, Shueili Township, and Xinyi Township, between 2022/01/01 and 2024/11/29.

In the ancient Sun Moon Lake, a mysterious tale has been passed down through generations...
It is said that at the center of Sun Moon Lake lies a super super colossal stone known as the "Heart of Stone," which possesses unfathomable mystical energy. Whoever possesses it can have any wish granted. To prevent the "Heart of Stone" from becoming the target of ambitious spirits and humans, the Sun God and Moon God set up an indestructible "bai sema" around it, isolating the stone deep beneath the lake and away from the outside world. From that moment, the secret of the stone was lost to time.

However, in the 1930s, the Sun Moon Lake Hydroelectric Power Project broke the bai sema! The "Heart of Stone" began emitting a strange light, attracting the envy and greed of the Nine Dragons Clan. A storm was about to break out as the green dragon of the Nine Dragons Clan stirred the waters of Sun Moon Lake, all in search of the "Heart of Stone." The rising waters flooded the lowlands around the lake, causing the white deer, owls, black bears, wild boars, leopard cats, frogs, and sharpbellies to flee for their lives, leaving them homeless. At that moment, the Stone Spirits elves within the colossal stone appeared! The Sunlight Stone elf used the magic of "Light" to subdue the green dragon, sealing it within Qinglong Mountain. Yet, the Nine Dragons Clan remained powerful, so the Sun God and Moon God pleaded with the Stone elf elders to help protect Sun Moon Lake. The "Heart of Stone" was then divided into 14 magical forces, and 14 giant stones were scattered around the lake, radiating energy of hope and courage through the cool night.

Now, peace has returned to Sun Moon Lake, safeguarded by the magic of the Stone elves. Dear visitor, if you seek hope and courage, come to Sun Moon Lake and search for the scattered giant stones around its shores.

Though this is merely a legend, these 14 stones truly exist in the picturesque surroundings of Sun Moon Lake! As part of the "2024 Sun Moon Lake Cycling, Music & Fireworks Festival Come!BikeDay," a fun event has been specially designed around this story: "Sun Moon Lake - Stone Gathering Fun" the designated tasks, and you can bring home limited edition gifts!

The event is divided into two stages, and visitors can choose which stage they wish to complete.

October 19, November 2, November 23, 2024

• Stage One

1. Step 1

   Search for the hidden giant stones around Sun Moon Lake during the daytime and take a photo with any six of them.
2. Step 2

   Follow the "Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration" Facebook fan page, then like and share the designated post.
3. Step 3

   Between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM on the specified date (10/19, 11/2, or 11/23), show your photos with the giant stones and your Facebook page showing that you are following the fan page mentioned in the preceding step at the event service counter to receive a "Powerful Tea Bag Gift".
   Quantities are limited, while supplies last.

   

• Stage Two:
  To further enhance visitors' experience of Sun Moon Lake’s night beauty, a special nighttime light projection has been set up, allowing visitors to enjoy music, fireworks, and the light show, with more gifts available!

1. Step 1

   Search for the hidden giant stones around Sun Moon Lake during the daytime and take a photo with any six of them.
2. Step 2

   After 6:00 PM on the specified date (10/19, 11/2, or 11/23), take a photo with the nighttime light projection.
3. Step 3

   Follow the "Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration" Facebook fan page, then like and share the designated post, and comment with your photo with the light projection and you.
4. Step 4

   Between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the specified date (10/19, 11/2, or 11/23), show your photos with the giant stones, your Facebook page showing that you are following the fan page mentioned in the preceding step, and your comment with the photo showing the light projection and you at the event service counter to receive a "Bamboo Cup Scented Candle."
   Quantities are limited, while supplies last.
