Centered on the concept of “Rock Meets Parade Formation”, the show fuses Chio-Tian’s powerful war drums with The Chairman’s Taiwanese rock energy, delivering collaborative singlesincluding “Tuè Guá Phah”, “Goddess of Jiu-Tian”, “Life of the War Drum”, and “God Bless Taiwan.” The set also features “1 2 3 GO”, a song dedicated to cheering on baseball games, transforming the spirit of folk traditions into rhythms that resonate with the entire audience, and creating a “New Taiwanese Aesthetic” that is both popular and artistic.

The opening act will feature Ita Thau Elementary School, bringing a performance rich in Thao cultural spirit — “Ascending the Heron Tower” — set to Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli’s“Canto della Terra.” With majestic vocals and graceful choreography, they pay tribute to nature and celebrate the vitality of culture. Chio-Tian will accompany with drumbeats, echoing the mountains and waters through rhythm, and, together with the young tribal performers, create a heartfelt exchange of art and heritage.

The show will reach its peak as the thunder of war drums and the striking presence of the Electric-Techno Neon Gods ignite the stage. From rock to classical poetry, from indigenoustraditions to temple parade formation culture, the performance showcases the confluence of cultural streams — a brilliant dialogue between modernity and tradition, local and global.

2025 Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Culture Festival

  • Event date: 11/1-2 (Sat.-Sun.)
  • Event time: 09:00~16:00
  • Venue: Xiangshan Visitor Center
  • Organizer: Yuchih Township Office, Nantou County

Event Introduction

The 2025 Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Culture Festival, centered on the specialty agricultural products of Yuchih Township, will feature not only local farmers’ market stalls, but also competitions and award ceremonies to recognize the hard work and achievements of local farmers. This annual evaluation provides motivation for farmers to keep moving forward, refine their agricultural techniques, and promote the upgrading of the local agricultural industry. It also helps revitalize rural communities, encouraging more young people to return to or move into the countryside to take up farming.
Farmers who receive such recognition gain not only greater visibility in marketing but also stronger pricing and market competitiveness for their products. For the long-term development of the specialty agricultural sector, this serves as a valuable promotional strategy. Through healthy competition, local farmers are inspired to take part in the festivities, which in turn fosters the benefits of an agglomeration economy.
This year’s Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Culture Festival offers a rich and diverse program — from “Creative Workshop” hands-on experiences that showcase the hospitality and vitality of Yuchih’s rural culture, to the ever-popular “Tea Aroma Handcraft & Farmers’ Market”, giving visitors an intimate taste of the township’s rural charm. The series of events also includes specially planned Yuchih Agri-Tourism Routes, each designed to highlight the township’s unique features in food-and-farming culture and environmental education.

Program Introduction

Founded in June 1993 in Taipei, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) was established with the primary mission of recruiting talented young wind musicians in Taiwan, fostering their passion and creativity, and promoting wind music.
Over the years, in addition to collaborating with renowned musicians from Taiwan and abroad and producing numerous recordings, the ensemble has been invited to perform internationally, including at the Baxter Theatre of the University of Cape Town in South Africa, the South African State Theatre in Pretoria, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, and the Concert Hall of the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School. In recent years, NTSO has explored diverse performance styles. Notable examples include: the 2018 Dialogue with East and West concert in collaboration with young suona players Chien-Yun Tseng and Yu-liang Wen; the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Concert at the 2020 Sun Moon Lake Music & Fireworks Festival with Taiwanese pop singer Huang Fei; the Hualien-Taitung Valley: Cultural Heritage and Continuity Concert in 2021 marking the centennial of the Taiwanese Cultural Association; and the Tongluo Sounds—Wind Music Welcomes Spring Concert in 2022 with Johnny Yin, winner of the Golden Melody, Golden Tripod, and Golden Bell Awards. NTSO has also worked with the Paper Windmill Theatre, performing at the opening of Taichung Central Park, and has frequently collaborated with Qingjing Farm of the Veterans Affairs Council, headlining the opening concerts of its annual sheep-shearing season. To support NTSO’s mission in music education outreach, NTSO has formed chamber groups to present Sowing the Seeds of Music Indoor Concerts, served as sectional instructors at youth wind music camps, and partnered with the Management College of the National Defense University to host the National Defense Music for All—Upholding Integrity through Song Exchange Concert. Through cross-disciplinary collaborations, NTSO continues to refine its performance capabilities, promote professional wind music, and nurture new generations of talented, competitive musicians attuned to contemporary trends through periodic auditions and recruitment.
